KOLKATA: The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) is all set to organize its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the morning of 30th August. Adhering to the Covid-19 guidelines, as issued by the government of India, the AGM will be held online in the form of a webinar.
And one of the big issues that will be discussed during the meeting is how Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who decided to call it quits from the international scene on 15th August, will be felicitated. “We have not yet thought out the exact process. That is on the discussion list at the AGM but definitely we will be doing something to felicitate him once he gets back (from the IPL in UAE),” said association secretary Sanjay Sahay.
The AGM is also scheduled to witness the managing committee submitting an annual report on the performance of the Jharkhand team in the senior domestic competitions, in the previous season.
As for holding the meeting online, the secretary said, “By the constitution of JSCA we had to organize the AGM by 31st August and for that we had earlier asked for permission from the state authorities. But since we could not procure it we have decided to go online as that was the most feasible option,” Sahay said.
A first for the association, Sahay said there won’t be much problem in organizing the meet online.
“There shouldn’t be any problem in organizing it online as we have already conducted 7-8 trials and there are few more trials to go. For those who are not able to contact online they can contact me,” said Sahay.
The secretary further added, “Naya cheez hai thoda alag to hoga hi (It’s a new thing so it will be different). One-two state associations have already done it, so we are confident of doing it as well.”
