Luka Doncic passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the NBA record books

After setting the record for most points in a playoff debut Monday night, Luka Doncic etched his name in the history books again, recording the most points (70) in his first two playoff games since the NBA/ABA merger.

Luka Dončić finished tonight’s win with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists tonight.

Doncic now sits above Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (69), Chris Paul (67) and Bob Lanier (65) after leading the Mavericks to a 127-114 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 2 to notch the series at 1-1.

Because of foul trouble, Doncic posted a rather pedestrian (for him) line of 28 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, but connected on four of his seven triples and registered only one turnover. The second-year superstar has quickly catapulted himself into the NBA’s upper echelon, and he’s quickly erasing records set by the NBA’s pantheon of greats.

In his first taste of the playoffs, Doncic is averaging 35 points, 7.5 rebounds and and eight assists while shooting 46 percent from three on 13 attempts. We’ll take it, I guess.
