It’s been one hell of a year, with seemingly nothing but negative headlines that continue to get worse with each passing day. But let’s put all that aside for the moment and join in celebration — there will be college football played today, the 29th of August, in the year 2020.
Tonight’s battle of the titans will feature the Austin Peay Governors against the Central Arkansas Bears. Austin Peay is coming off a promising season, finishing 11-4 and making it to the FCS semifinals, where they would lose to Montana State. Central Arkansas also qualified for the FCS playoffs in 2019, getting knocked out in the second round by Illinois State to finish the season at 9-4. The two teams met early in the season, with Central Arkansas pulling off a 24-16 victory.
The game kicks off at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN.
During typical circumstances, this game may not mean much to the general college football audience. However, tonight we have the opportunity for a little bit of normalcy. So crack open your favorite bear, eat something with way too many calories, kick your feet up and enjoy.
