The Madison Central boys golf team rolled to its second team title of the season on Saturday in Prestonsburg.
The Indians shot a 286, beating out Pikeville by 25 strokes, at the Johnson Central Invitational. The event was held at StoneCrest Golf Course.
Montgomery County (318) and Estill County tied for third.
Central Clay Pendergrass shot a 67 to claim another individual championship. He tied for first with Pikeville’s Cam Roberts. Warren Thomis was third after shooting a 70 and Cooper Eberle shot a 73 and tied for 10th.
Central is set to return to action Sunday at Taylor County.
Lady Indians take third
The Madison Central girls golf team took third place on Saturday at the Frederick Douglass Golf Classic in Lexington.
The event was held at Kearny Hill.
The Lady Indians shot a +27, 315 and finished five shots behind Sacred Heart and Lexington Christian Academy (310).
Central’s Elizabeth Eberle shot an even-par, 72, and finished third. Claira Beth Ramsey and Katherine Taylor both finished a +8, 80, and tied for 20th. Abi Buchanan shot a +11, 83, and Haley Rice finished at +15, 87.
Model shot a 427 and finished 20th in the team standings.
Allison Shafer shot a +10. 82, and finished tied for 28th. Lesley Durr shot a +15, 87, and tied for 42nd. Aashini Shah fired a +43, 115 and Elyssa Bradburn shot a +71, 143.
