MERIDEN — Brett Zimmerman followed up an opening-round 73 with a 78 in Sunday’s second round en route to winning the 2020 Hunter Men’s Club Championship at Hunter Golf Course.
Zimmerman’s 151 put him six strokes ahead of the rest of the field in the Championship Flight.
The runner-up at 157 was Les Zimmerman, Brett’s father. Joe Diaz was third at 160.
The club championship was the eighth for Brett Zimmerman. His closest active challenge is, again, his dad. Les Zimmerman has five club titles.
The remaining flights were decided by net scoring (gross total minus handicap).
The First Flight went to Doug Linder, who carded an even-par 142. Doan Nguyen was two strokes back at 144.
Rob D’Agostino, at 3-under par with a net 139, finished three shots ahead of Stephen Victor in the Second Flight.
Larry Jardine took the Third Fight with a 5-under par net 137. Drew Lesienski and Aldo Dagostino tied for second at 142.
